Friction Atlas is local-first, so most problems can be diagnosed from device permissions, app settings and the feature you are trying to use.

Android Digital Friction

Confirm the master monitor is ON.
Confirm Android Usage Access is granted.
For short-form estimates, verify Enhanced Tracking is separately enabled.
Do not expect historical short-form counts before Enhanced Tracking existed.

Android Friction Bot

Allow Display over other apps.
Start the bot from Friction Atlas.
If paused/hidden, resume it from the Digital screen.
Turn the monitor off if you want all monitoring stopped.

Windows Mini Bot

Launch Mini Friction Bot from the app.
Drag it to reposition; its last position is remembered.
Use Open App to return to the full window.
Windows does not expose the same Android Usage Access data.

Correlation

Keep logging both Done and Blocked days.
At least 7 matched days are needed for an early signal.
You also need at least 3 Done and 3 Missed observations.
A weak relationship may correctly show “no clear association yet.”

Does Friction Atlas need an account?

No account or custom Friction Atlas backend is required for the core product design.

Does the app read my messages?

The Enhanced short-form feature is designed not to persist messages, passwords, screenshots, typed content or raw screen text. See the Privacy Policy for the full disclosure.

Why is my Reels/Shorts number not exact?

It is an estimate based on supported accessibility/scroll signals, not official Instagram/YouTube analytics.

Does Pro unlock every bot?

No. Pro Lifetime and paid bot skins are separate digital products unless a future store listing explicitly bundles them.
